Get Fieldeng free. Become an Android tester.

Fieldeng uses your phone's sensors and camera to turn it into a toolkit. Designed for field engineers of all types and useful for everyone, it includes phone-based measurements, field records, and offline electrical, RF, mechanical, networking, and other calculators.

Normally $9.99. Testers can get a free permanent copy through a Google Play promo code, while codes last.

Android + Google Play · 14-day test · Honest feedback

Stay enrolled for 14 continuous days, use the app on several days, and tell us how it goes. Use the same Google account for the group, Play enrollment, redemption, and installation.

How to join

  1. Join the tester group

Open Fieldeng Android Testers and select Join group.

    Seeing a permission message?

Conversations are members-only. Select Join group at the top, even if the page says you don't have permission to access its content.

  2. Join the Fieldeng test

Accept the test on Google Play. This is separate from joining the group, and starts your 14-day enrollment period. No invitation email needed.

    Can't join the Play test?

Check that you joined the group with the same Google account. If you're in Fieldeng's internal test, leave it first. Google Play confirms device and country eligibility. Android 7.0 or later required.

  3. Request your promo code

Tell us you've joined the group and the Play test. No Google account email, installation screenshot, or proof of enrollment needed.

    Email for a promo code

Found us on Reddit? You can DM the person who posted the Fieldeng recruitment post for a code instead.

One code per tester, while supplies last. Codes are sent privately by a person, so replies aren’t instant. Keep your code and email address out of public posts.

  4. Redeem your code and install

Use the redemption link in our reply, or enter your code on Google Play’s redemption page. Then install Fieldeng from Google Play on your Android phone. If Play asks you to pay, stop and email us.

Redeem before the expiry in our reply. That deadline applies to using the code; your redeemed copy remains yours after the test, subject to Google Play's applicable redemption terms.

During the test

Stay opted in on Google Play for at least 14 continuous days, keep the app installed, use it on several days, and send honest feedback. Install updates as they become available. No public rating or positive review is required.

Your 14 days start when you opt into the Google Play test, not when you join the group or redeem a code.

What to try

Explore whichever tools interest you. A few easy things to try with sample data or a non-sensitive practice job:

Core tools work offline. Online maps, address search, and updates need internet; voice entry needs a supported on-device recognizer and language model. These tools don’t replace calibrated equipment or qualified engineering judgment.

Send feedback or get help

Any feedback helps. Tell us what you liked, what confused you, or what didn't work. Even a few sentences are valuable.

Email hello@fieldeng.app, or reply by Reddit DM if that's where you joined.

No positive review, public rating, daily screenshot, or lengthy report is required.

Optional details for a bug report

Include your phone model, Android version, app version/build from Settings → About, what you tried, what you expected, and what happened. Screenshots can help. Remove personal details and sensitive work data first.

Your email is used to coordinate your request, access, and feedback. Contacting us doesn’t enroll you on Play or subscribe you to reminders. See test participation privacy and deletion.
